"Red onion farm owners search for scrapping of canalising organizations for exports" 7May

Buoyed by the government’s decision to eliminate lowest move price (MEP) for vegetables, farm owners and exporters have now desired the treatment of canalising organizations that give one more nod to exporters for shipping.




There are 13 canalising organizations in the nation, such as Nafed, NCCF and Maharashtra Farming Promotion Panel, which cost 1% of the move amounts for their acceptance.


“In the intense international aggressive market, service costs assessed by these canalising organizations add to the cost of exports,” C B Holkar, board participant, Nationwide Farming Supportive Promotion Federation of Indian (Nafed), informed FE.


In a high-level conference on Thursday, joined by Excellent Reverend Manmohan Singh, farming minister Sharad Pawar, food minister KV Johnson and industry minister Anand Sharma, the govt determined to eliminate MEP to increase exports.
